Call for 2012 Fellows Nominations
Nominations are invited for the 2012 Class of CSLA Fellows. Election to the College of Fellows is the highest honour the Society bestows on its members. Candidates for Fellowship may be nominated by individuals through their CSLA component association. The deadline for submissions is May 13th, 2012, at 4 p.m. PST.
Members eligible for nomination for Fellowship are landscape architects with at least twelve continuous years as full members of CSLA. They also should be recognized as having made outstanding contributions to the profession through excellence in executed works, administrative professional work in public agencies, in professional university instruction, in professional writing, through service to the community or the public, or in direct service to the Society. Nominees shall not be aware that their names have been forwarded for consideration.
A jury of five Fellows, representing regions across Canada, will select the new Fellows based on extensive submissions documenting each candidate’s contributions to the profession. The successful candidates will be inducted into the College of Fellows at an investiture ceremony during Congress 2012 in Halifax, N.S. in September 2012.
Since the inception of CSLA 74 years ago, less than 180 members have been given the prestigious designation “FCSLA”, making it a true distinction and honour conferred by the Society.

CSLA College Of Fellows Announces Eight New Fellows
THE CSLA COLLEGE OF FELLOWS hosted a gala investiture ceremony to admit eight new Fellows-Elect, in conjunction with the 2011 Congress. Inducted to the College, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the profession over an extended period of time, were Cynthia Girling (BCSLA), Ian Wasson (BCSLA), Karen LeGresley Hamre (NWTALA), Liane McKenna (BCSLA), Myke Hodgins (AAPQ), Penny Dunford (AALA), Robert Leblanc (APALA), and Wendy Shearer (OALA).
Election to Fellow is the highest honour the CSLA/AAPC bestows on its members. New Fellows will follow in the prestigious tradition of 179 Fellows elected since 1964. The Fellows take the lead in the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Council, established by the College in 1986, and the Landscape Architecture Canada Foundation, founded in 1987. They serve on accreditation teams to review university programs, and through the Campaign of Fellows, they have raised over $320,000 for the LACF’s annual grants program.
